News Round-Up

There was a flurry of news over the last few days, first the bad news...

- Elgin Reid did get that call from the league. He was suspended one game and fined. I really would like to see a replay of that "slew-foot"

- Coach Malcom Cameron was fined for "Abuse of Officials". This occurred after the game Reid earned the slew-footing in.

- For reactions and some explanation from Reid and Cameron you can check out this story from Woody over at the Blades Blog.

- And the worst news of all, Chris Beckford-Tseu was recalled by the Panthers. This means that unless the Cats send him back before Saturday our rec. league back-up is our starting goalie, yay. Of course he could be back before then, or Barry Brust might be sent down by Houston. It's hard to tell.

- On the Roster front Paul Healey was released by the team.

And now some good news...

- Pink in the Rink was a huge success! $20,000 was raised for local cancer charities. Matthieu Roy's jersey went for $2,200, both Ryan Lang and Milan Gajic's jerseys went for $1,250.

- It was also a sell-out crowd. The team is reporting an attendance of 7,270.

  1. Nope, NO BB to you, sorry guys.
"Dimples" was recalled to Minnesota, that means IMO that BB will stay with Aeros.

  2. How about borrowing Richard Bachmann, he didn't do too badly :
"The 22-year old was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round (#120 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Bachman played the previous two seasons with Colorado College, posting a 39-20-11 record with a 2.24 goals against average and a .922 save percentage".

  3. I love the nickname Dimples so much!

It's ok, Becks is supposed to be backbefore the game. It sounds like it was easier for Florida to have him drive two hours to the East coast than fly one of the goalies down from Rochester to practice with the team (also gives them time to see how he's been coming along).
