I mentioned this earlier today, but now it's time to go more in depth. The Everblades announced last night that they have brought in Brad Tapper to serve as assistant coach for the upcoming season. His stats from his time as a player:
And some highlights from his time with the Chicago Wolves:
Overall, it looks like he was a hardworking, solid player. He spent last season coaching a junior team in the CCHL, the North York Rangers. This is a next step in his coaching career, and hopefully it's a successful step. He has played for Greg Poss in the past and will probably be a big part of helping the players learn the new system.
In the course of my research I found a very interesting article on him. The problem is it's about a pretty rough time in his life and I've spent some time wrestling with whether I should link to it. In the end I decided that this article does offer some insight into who he is and what he's been through. It's a very sad story, and I'm not going to go any further into it because information on the events are quite easy to find. You can find the story here.
I feel like I repeat this line over and over again, but it's true. We won't really know until the season starts and we can see his work in action. Seriously, October needs to hurry up and get here already.
